The Committee on Judiciary moved to amend the bill on page one, section twenty-eight, lines three through nine, by striking out all of subdivision (1) and inserting in lieu thereof a new subdivision, designated subdivision (1), to read as follows:
“(1)
For a county election, the election official must be a registered voter
of the county for elections held throughout the county or a registered voter
of the contiguous county closest to the precinct to be served, who has
previously been trained as an election official and consents to assignment
outside of the county. and For a municipal election, the election
official must be a registered voter of the municipality for elections held
within the municipality: Provided, That if the required number of
persons eligible to serve as election officials for a municipal election are
not available or are not willing to serve as election officials for a municipal
election, a registered voter of the county in which the municipality is located
may serve as an election official for elections held within the municipality;”;
On page one, section twenty-eight, lines thirteen through fifteen by striking out all of subdivision (4);
And,
By renumbering the remaining subdivisions.
